Windows jam

I just noticed that all my windows except the drivers wont go down. there is power to them i hear noises when i push the buttons but they wont go down. What would cause them all to fail at one time? could it be loose wire? Fuse?

On the drivers door controls. Do you have a 'windows lock' toggle switch?

Re: Windows jam

have you tried the controls on the other doors? If it's a fuse, the driver side wouldn't work either. I'm thinking there's something wrong within the controls themselves.

yes i tried all the controls when i push the button the window makes a noise like it wants to go down but its jammed. How can 3 out of 4 windows do that at all the same time. is there a fix to this?

Angry Re: Windows jam

I don't have the answer for you but I can tell you that I have a 2001 Olds Aurora and my problem started with the rear driver side window and now has moved the the passenger window. I only have two windows that roll down. I wish you good luck figuring it out because we haven't been able to.

Re: Windows jam

Same problem with my 2001 power windows. Started with the front passenger side. Now the rear passenger side won't work. To make things worse now it is slipping open. Great. I'm not looking forward to pulling off the door panels.

I think your question should have been: "Have you tried rolling the windows down from the drivers door. And, have you tryed all the controls at each door. Door lock button, would only diable the controls at each of the door besides the drivers.

Re: Windows jam

I have a 2001 Aurora and both rear windows are jammed. My auto mechanic said that the guide wires are broken. The cost to replace each window is over $400 a piece. Is there a better way?
