2003 Montana Mildew Smell

I have a 2003 Montana, and everytime the a/c is turned on or the vent is turned on, there is a very strong mildew smell. I've had the car at the dealer several times and they say it is common. They spray some deodorizer in the ducts and send me on my way.

I have seen the procedure in the service manual for "deodorizing" the AC Evaporator. It involves spraying some stuff on there that kills the mildew and letting it dry.

So if they are only spraying stuff in the vents and NOT onto the evaporator (and maybe the heater core), I think they have a little more work to do.

I would also check the Cabin Air Filters and see what shape they are in.

Take Care,

Re: 2003 Montana Mildew Smell

The dealer did spray into the evaporator. They say it's a known problem and that I have to continue and do this. I have also changed my cabin filters several times
Thanks again for the feedback.
