GT 911 in trouble, I think.

Thank God, Thank God, Thank GOD!!!

At long last, after putting up with it for the past 15 years, I think that the day of the 911 GT is coming to a close in modern sportscar racing. I see three, count 'em THREE programs on the horizon that look positively brilliant in the way of ceasing the incessant flow of flat-six boredom.

#1: Ferrari 360GT Modena- It's official. Mr. Montezemolo has pledged full factory support to developing the 360 Modena as an endurance racer with real sterling performance. Already, the car is a dominant force in Grand Am racing. Losing only to the Corvette-powered Mosler MT900. Let's face it, any playboy entertaining the racer fantasy would rather do it in a Ferrari, anyway.

#2: Nissan/Nismo 350Z GT: Yep, they announced the program mid-September. We know the VQ holds up in competition trim. After all, if it isn't an MG Lola in LMP675, it's a Nissan/Pilbeam or Nissan/Lola. Plus, looking at the stock cd's. I believe that the 350Z has the slipperiest body. Perfect for whistling down the Mulsanne. And Le Mans is what it's all about.

#3: TVR Tambora: I don't have the 100% details on this one. But, from what I've heard, TVR wants to build Tambora coupes with hyper-versions of their striaght-six and go Porsche hunting to prove they're in the same league as Ferrari, BMW, and the other sports car manufacturers.

So, that's what I've seen. Now, I hope that [A] this sparks some debate [b] is an example of more manufacturer involvement in sports car racing [and C] royally offends those of you who worship the 911 above more soulful machines like Ferraris.

Bye-bye.

LOL

Be just like Herschel McGriff in '73. (for those of you who don't know, Herschel McGriff was a NASCAR driver with Olympia Beer sponsorship who entered a 1973 Dodge Hemi Charger in both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans)

Welcome to AF. I would ask that you read user guidlines and check the dates of the threads before you post in them seeing as how this one is from 02.

^^ That may be but it doesn't change the fact that it is an old thread. And if you would like to start another thread about this subject feel free. Those are the guidlines.

As mentioned above, please check the dates, before reviving threads from antiquity. Welcome to AF.
