I've had this 85 crx si [ew3] for some time now and the PGM-FI light came on. I have read in this forum that the light comes on because of a stored trouble codes. How true is that?? Also what kind of lil upgrades can i do to put a lil more gitty up in performance.

Re: how to pull trouble codes 85 crx si...
It is true. You should be able to pull the carpet back from under the passenger seat and look at the ECU. It should light up 1 or more of the four lights. If you get the numbers that the lights are and search for the trouble code post, you should be able to decipher what is wrong.

Re: how to pull trouble codes 85 crx si...
well i found the red lights and they read from left to right 8421, # 4,2 are lit. I found the codes on a thread but the problem is how do i read it. #42 does not apply to 85 and #24 either. The only thing that i could come up with is #2 oxygen sensor"b" defective circuit or unpluged. The other one is #4 ckp sensor defective circuit or unpluged. Does it have to blink or am i doing something wrong. Have patience with the newbie. I realy apreciate it man.

Re: how to pull trouble codes 85 crx si...
You need to make sure you're looking at the right Engine Code list. Here's the correct list.
By looking at this list, it reads: 8.] 0 4 2 0 ____ High idle speed durring warm-up, continued high idle or hard starting at low temperature Then you go down to the #8 symptom and you get: 8. Check for a disconnected coolant temperature sensor connector or an open circuit in the coolant temperature sensor wire. Also check for a faulty coolant temperature sensor.
