Question Tire question - 265/70-17 to 245/65-17?

Hi folks,

Looking for advice - I can pick up a set of 245/65-17 M+S Goodyear Wrangler tires for a really god deal from a friend of mine for my 01 Tahoe Z71. It came with stock 265/70-17 tires so I'm wondering if this is a good/possible switch? If there are any issues can someone tell me what they may be?

Thanks for any advice given.
Derek

The 245s are an inch shorter so you will have to reprogram for the smaller size. See http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Thanks for the response, if I can live with the speedo difference I should be fine without doing anything? Do you think I'd notice any other noticable difference? I'm not a big fan in going down in size but its a very good deal on the tires.

I know that on some vehicles, that a smaller (or larger) tire can throw off the abs sensors. I am not really sure about your 01 Tahoe.

Perhaps, someone that knows for sure can comment about that.
