Trunk Latch problem
Please help!!!
My 2002 Focus has a bad trunk latch, it clicks a lot but only opens when I pull up on the trunk. I found a used latch that works, but now I need to put my old key cylinder on the new/used latch. How do I remove the cylinder assembly and reinstall mine? I managed to remove the entire lock mechanism only to be puzzled in replacing the key cylinders. |

Re: Trunk Latch problem
the lock cyl. is hooked to the latch by turning it inot place and a spring loaded pin prevents in from comin gback off. ford sais to cut the case of the lock cyl. just behind the spring, tap the hose and install a new plug. but, I have done a few and since you are relacing the latch anyhow you can jsut break the plastic case on the latch and use a pick to release the lock pin.

Re: Trunk Latch problem
This is a recall from Ford. Take it in to your local dealer and they'll replace it at no cost to you - for once.
