Oil filter in a 03 2.2L
Change the oil on my daughter 03 2.2L Cavalier and to my surprise I could not find the oil filter, after a few minutes I noticed a large plastic cover that looked like it would contain an oil filter sure enough that was it. Next question when I but this filter will it come complete with the cover or is there a way to just unhook the filter element. I have never seen this on an American car.

Re: Oil filter in a 03 2.2L
Sorry, you don't get a cover with that filter. It's just the cartridge. Remove the old one from the cover, install the new one the same way and drop it into the housing. Tighten.

Yeah these filters that the newer model cavys use are really cheap (all around cheap material and everything) I usually go with the most expensive. Um but yea u look at the thing and wonder how something so cheap could be doing the job but it seems to work just fine.
