Jacking points

I am going to buy my first hydrolic floor jack in a few days and need some help. I was under the car the other day and looking aroung for a good spot to jack up the front end. all I could figure out was what looked like the front cross member about 10 inches in from the bumber. I was wondering if this point was strong enough to pick up the front end. does any one have any better suggestions on jacking up the from end as well as the rear end. i have looked around the forum and could not find this subject addressed. sorry if the quesstion is rudimentry but I do not want to tweek the frame.

being the grand prix is front wheel drive and the frame setup that it has. there is no way to pick up the entire front end "safely" at one time. the only safe way to do it is to jack up one side and then jack up the other side. same for the rear. if you look under the car. right at the front of the door. there will be something called a pinch point. then there will be a bolt and then a 4"gap and then another bolt. place the jack right in between those 2 bolts. and your good to go. same for the rear but there is no bolts
