New Car in Town

There was a new car in town, it was a moded S15 more specifically it had the SR20DET Engine running a GReddy TD06-20G turbo, Greddy Type S BOV GReddy exhaust manifold, Trust external wastegate, APEXI intercooler, APEXI air filter, APEXI power FC, 300ZX airflow meter, Nismo fuel pump, Sard 660cc/min injectors, Sard fuel pressure regulator, NGK iridium spark plugs, custom dump pipe, Stainless steel exhaust, custom 5 speed with Exeddy single brass button clutch, C-west bodykit (full), C-west GT wing, 18" Konig wheels making over 400hp

My mods included the 6g72 engine with Twin TD04 Turbo’s provided by Ralliart NZ HKS SSQ BOV Free flow Borla exhaust system with custom Headers. Twin HKS intercoolers, External K&N Air filter/Mass, External Oil cooler, Porsche fuel pumps and Braided Fuel lines, 720cc fuel injectors HKS Fcon, HKS fuel pressure regulator and HKS electronic boost controller with HKS exhaust temp gauge and boost gauge. ATR air fuel meter, 6 speed Getrag gear box with Red Top Twin plate clutch from Millin Fabrications and a 1997 face lift with 18” Advanti’s and Brembo F40's cars making over 400hp on pump

Now that that’s out of the way

I met this guy at one of the gathering we have out of town every Friday Night, he pulls up to me and starts talking to me friendly and all telling me he was from out of town (Auckland) so I reply in the same manor, telling him he had a nicely moded S15 and that I was from this area (New Plymouth) he was telling me and everyone about all his mods and all and how he liked to drift.

anyway he looked inside my car and said it looked pretty stock, I said it was lol if you visit the link in my sig you would also think so at first glance since all my mods are hidden away………………. Anyway as soon as he found that my car was stock (no threat to his 400hp S15) he started stating that he had the fastest car in New Plymouth, and that I would be a fool to race him, in his words, GTO’s (3000gts) were the heaviest Japanese car ever to be created and are a disgrace to Mitsubishi Motors. Man that pissed me off, but I sort of saw it coming, knowing this guy was sussing me out earlier lol

I told him that our cars were great for touring and in my opinion were the only super car ever to be branded by Mitsubishi, I also stated that stock for stock my car would take his, and our cars were still capable of 9sec passes moded which is far from slow and that I had no doubt that we’ll be seeing 8’s in the near future, he told me our cars are heavy POS (I get this all the time) and that he hasn’t even heard of a GTO ever doing 10’s, anyway he challenged me to a race, he took his camera with him.

We went where we always raced, down the airport strait, He wanted us to do it from a roll but I told him that a real race was from a stand still position and that he shouldn’t be scared since my car was “lightly moded” anyway my car wasn’t running pump gas today and I was boosting 20psi over 500hp on race.

His friend in the passenger was taping us, she told me to get a real car!!! In which I replied with the flip of the bird, I was revving up to 6500rpm and waited for him to launch, he revs his car, loud as hell, sounds like he had no exhaust system lol she counted down, 3, 2 ,1 and then I launch Rpms drop down to 5500mark in first red line @7000rpm I immediately jump half a car on him from launch, I see his car Power sliding close to mine he gains traction and see him start to pull as I shift into second from redline he is at my door, I start to pull hard once I shift into third from reline I gain 2 cars on him as we approach 180kph my eyes on the road redline shift to 4th red line, shift to 5th. road markings speeding by, I look back and he is about 6 car lengths behind me, I look down and I’m gong 250kph car feels very stable and I'm on a rush, wanting more speed but I decide to shut down in fear of hitting the end of the road, we come to a stop I wait a few seconds for him to catch up, he keeps his distance Yelling out, whale!! in which I yell back Plankton!!, he then fucks off, I decide to go home for a well deserved Milo and vegemite sandswhich (now illegal in the US of A)

Re: New Car in Town

Thanks guys, car runs 11's although I've never taken her down the 1/4, so who know's what I'll be able to achieve. Maybe a 12 flat, if my driving isn't what I think it is lol....................

Re: New Car in Town

Wow you've got guts launching your car at near redline. I know that those VR4's don't have the best drivetrain for hard launches. In any event, good kill. Sounds like you raced an adolescent child.

Re: New Car in Town

nice kill on that s15. dispite his launching problems, you still would win. i like putting people that talk all that junk that their car is the fastest, in their place. its just more fun that way.

5.5k isn't too dangerous, once you start launchin above 6k is when you should be really worried.

Sweet kill, I find it hilarious when people say the car is too heavy and then get owned..i've done it a couple times, feels great lol.

Re: New Car in Town

Sweet kill. Sounds like S15 boy was so impressed with himself that he didn't see the total pwnage coming. I bet that video was immediately deleted as well... LOL Your car sounds badass... a freakin' monster. I'm curious to see what a track visit would yield as well.

Re: New Car in Town

You got some nice freaking roads if you're redlining 4th racing. Very few roads around here are long enough and paved nice enough and have no traffic. Nice kill.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: New Car in Town

wow, 250kph is damn fast....i think you'd need to see traffic from a FEW miles away to be safe :P

I have to say, an S15 making 400hp is quite quite impressive. I think the most I've ever seen one make - some dyno queen - was 600.
