04 325xi cable noise?

I have a 2004 325xi close to the end of a 3 yr lease. I just had my summer tires/wheels swapped out for my all season winter tires and wheels that came with car. A week later I had the dealer perform the 30,000 service. That was last week. All of a sudden, today I have developed a klunking sound which seemes to eminate out of the front left wheel well. It happens only when I break. And ususally only when I break slowly. It is almost a rat tit tit tat sound. Almost sounds like a wire cable being drawn taunt.

It just developed today. It doesn't seem to impact the braking of the car any. Any ideas what is going on? I don't believe it is the tires as these were the wheels and tires (Continetal conti's 4 seasons) that came with the car. They have less than 5,000 miles on them as I run Goodyear eagles in the summer and had been runnng Blizzaks (all four corners) in the winter on Italia 16' rims.

Any help as what might be the cause and the fix would be apprciated.

Re: 04 325xi cable noise?

I found out what it was. I took it to the dealer and he told me the lug nuts on the left rear wheel were all loose!!!! That could have been a friggen nightmare. I called the garage that has serviced my cars for years and they couldn't be more apologetic. Told me was the first time in his 35 years that has ever happened.
