M-coupe got own

hey guys I was at Fl turnpike no traffic only a couple of cars.
its was cold so I took the gti for a ride and this guy on a M-coupe starts driving by my side; If I slow down he will do the same. he was like that for like a mile or so; until I got mad and told him to go for it; I slam it and he follows; by the time I let go off the gas he was like three or four cars behind me (and I was still pulling from him) . I put my hand out the sunroof and go it was funny,(he had a sticker on the windshield that said M-POWER) after that he stayed behind me. I slow down to see if he will do it again and he wouldnt get close....

i wouldnt exactly tell the approx locations either of these events happening, but nice reguardless. find a pic on cardomain or something that is the car. for all we know is that it was a m3 that was misbadged or something. its not like im calling bs or anything, since we all know that your gti is pretty quick.

Damn bro, I ran one in the Goat the other morning and he took off on me in traffic like an ass. When I finally caught up to him at a clearing I tell him "again" and honk it down.
I pulled away about 2 cars from 3rd to 5th but I though maybe he just didnt try hard enough.
Now Im not so sure....

Just for clarification, are we talking about the Z3 M-Coupe:


or the Z4 M-Coupe?


Also, if it was a Z3 M-Coupe, any idea on the year? Most of them have the 240hp engine from the E36 M3, but the later ones had 315hp.

The M Coupe is nothing to be underestimated in any guise. There is a good chance that the Z4 M Coupe will be my next car.

nice kill. For some reason I never see those m-coupes in real life...ever. m3s, m5s, 3 series, z3s and z4s are all over the place, but I never see those coupes

1.8T I-4, gt28r turbo upgrade, Samco turbo inlet hose, revo chip, Greddy Profect-B Spec-1 electronic boost controller, forge side –mount intercooler kit, 2.5-inch down pipe, 3-inch race pipe, stainless steel magnaflow exhaust system, K&N 4-inch cold air intake, baileys diverter valve, VR6 MAF, tyrolsport fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel gage. 440 injectors. Zex intercooler sprayer. Abd lower intercooler pipe, VF passenger and driver motor mounts etc.

Good stuff. I agree though, the new M Coupe in Z4 form is damn sexy in person. I was looking at them when I got to test drive the 335i. My buddy says it looks like a 350Z that went on a diet, worked out a good bit, and then went and got a massive ego boost by getting laid by a hot ass chick.

not to be a dick, but im wondering here.

you weight what, just shy of 3000lbs? with those mods, maybe making 300hp, which should put you in the low 13's, maybe high 12s on slicks.

and if im not mistaken the new z4mclass is a low 13 second car stock, with well over 300hp.

it really doesnt sound like you could have pulled him that hard

Power to weight ratio isnt that important when its from a roll and you have forward momentum already built up.

Ive raced his GTI....well sort off, believe me its a monster.
He has about 315-320 hp and Im making 447 at the cranck and I still couldnt get ahead of him, he just kept walking me. Now if he can do that to a 447 hp'd car what makes it so hard to do it to a measly 315?

Part of that might be that they are fairly new. They only came out last summer. I also doubt that they are selling all that great. Most people will probably opt to pay $2,000 more for the convertable top. I drove one a little while ago and thought that it was much more fun then the M5 and the M6. It was looking like the M-division was obsessed with developing new technology, but the M-Roadster and M-Coupe are very simple for a modern BMW, much more like some of the older M cars. I really wanted to drive away from the dealership with a Interlagos Blue Coupe, but I know that the E92 M3 is less then a year away so I decided to wait. A new M3 with a V8 is not to be ignored. It would be awesome if they managed to squeeze this new V8 into the M-Coupe.
