where is coolant temp sensor?

i had my ses light com on 2 days ago. Brought it in to get scanned and came up as the coolant temp sensor fault...which explains why after the light came on my temp gauge doent work. I looked today for the sensor and cannot find it.i pulled off the plastic motor cover and was amazed by all of the wires. Im totally lost. Is this something that i can change because i bought the part. $28.99 special ordered ac delco part from auto zone that took a day to get. Any help is appreciated.

Re: where is coolant temp sensor?

Just follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing. About 3 inches below that you will find the ECT sensor on the lower intake manifold next to the exhaust crossover pipe/shield. Check the electrical connector first.
