installing a factory chrysler nav. system

I've been thinking about purchasing a RB1 naviagtion to install on my 98 xj. I know that the screw holes do not line up, but it wont be a problem for me to just make new holes with threads for that. My question is, is it possible to install it and have it work by using basicly the wiring already in my jeep, or would I need to do a complete wiring overhaul. You can find them now on ebay for about 400, which isn't too bad. Thanx

Cool Re: installing a factory chrysler nav. system

Don't really know about the original Nav system...but those things get dated.

Why not a new one like Magellan or Garmin.

I use a Garmin myself...but using a GPS is learning a new thing.
I have a GPS topo for off road and a Streets "city" navigation version....two units. I still carry a magnetic compass for off road topo navigation. And topo maps.

This could be an interesting thread if other people could share their GPS/Navigation system experiences.
