MUST READ - Rules for the DSM Classifieds Section

Due to the current disorganization of the Classifieds subforum, I decided to write some rules. Follow them.

1) THREAD TITLE:

Thread titles should be clear and concise. The thread title should include two parts, a breif description of the item and whether its wanted or to be sold.

2) THREAD BODY - VEHICLE ADS:

Vehicle "for sale" ads must include all of the following: Make, model, trim, color, year, transmission type, location, contact info, number of miles and atleast a basic visual as well as mechanical description of the car. Pictures, VIN, more contact info, and detailed descriptions are strongly recommended. Remember, the better your ad, the better your chances for completing the sale.

Vehicle "want to buy" ads should include make, model, trim, color, year, transmission type, location, contact info and mile range preferences. Unlike "for sale" ads, these can be generalized. For example, an acceptable "want to buy" thread body could be:

"Want to buy: A good running, lower milage, 2g AWD, in the New England area. Email [email protected] or call xxx-xxx-xxxx"

3) THREAD BODY - PARTS ADS

Parts "for sale" ads must include all of the following: brand, application, description of the condition, price, location, and contact info. Approximate milage and/or life left, pictures, and detailed descriptions are strongly recommended. Again, the better your "for sale" ad, the better the chances of you actually selling it are.

Parts "want to buy" ads must include the part desired, the application, location, and contact info. The more we know about what part you need, the faster and easier the part will surface for you.

4) POST WHORING - WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! General question(s) reguarding the item for sale that any potemtial buyer can benefit from are the ONLY posts to be made in this subforum other than the for sale/want to buy ad themselves!

5) UNAUTHORIZED ADVERTISING - Unauthorized advertising is not something we take lightly here on AF. Either making a new thread, posting in an existing thread, or info in your signature are all considered unauthorized advertising. Your posts/threads will be removed, you will edit your signature or it will be edited for you, and your actions will be noted.

Should these rules not be followed: A PM will be sent to the thread starter asking them to read the rules and revise their ad within 48 hours. Should 48 hours pass with no revision, a moderator will lock the thread. The thread starter, should they want their ad unlocked, will revise the thread body and send a PM to a moderator (Thor06, Blackcrow64, or Shpyder) for review. Upon approval, the new thread body will replace the original one and the thread will be unlocked.
