Re: Yay Front mount FTW

its not really mounted, just sitting on two bolts on the frame, once i hacked off the crash bar cover it slid right in, I don't want to bolt it down untill i get the piping in so it will be aligned lol, I just wanted to see what it would look like.

Re: Yay Front mount FTW

Not a fan of cutting the fins in the front bumper. I either say leave them or remove them completely...but thats just my opinion. Congrats on the FMIC though. Are you going ebay piping or what?

Cutting the fins? I didn't cut the fins, I don't have fog lights yet if your talking about that gap. I'm getting PPE piping, or may just go and make some with the good ol tig

Re: Yay Front mount FTW

Its 530BHP and no, that doesn't require a Front mount. I still don't know what turbo's I have yet................... I was looking at some DR650R (I think that what they are) I might get those with a front mount If my turbo's are on there way out yet (yea I'm poor, I can't afford the Td05 16g upgrade). For now they are holding 15psi to red line on pump and are still going strong. Any easy way to Find out????...........

Re: Yay Front mount FTW

Yeah, are they burning oil or squealing? If not, they are probably fine. And I personally think it's a waste of money to be upgrading from one set of upgraded Td04s to another set of upgraded td04s.

Re: Yay Front mount FTW

It's up to you. Yes it would probably benefit you some. I don't know the dimensions of your sidemounts (i know they are upgraded, but I don't know how much) so I can't really say for sure how much of an improvment you would see. Basically up to you. If you do plan on going TD05 in the future, a FMIC now wouldn't hurt.

Re: Yay Front mount FTW

well you'd need to figure out the piping situation. But the 600x300x76mm (ie, 24x12x3 inch) one would probably be the size you are looking for. Plus it's bar+plate design...which is what you want. Don't know how much bigger you can go (i think some have gone as big as 32x12x3). But you have to consider if you wanna lose your crash bar, fog lights, stock fans, if you want a front mount oil-cooler, etc. I think the first size i mentioned above is pretty standard for keeping mostly stock front bumper + front accessories.

This ^ is a good intercooler read if you are interested.
