Re: New clutch new quadrent still wont disengauge

Ok so just now put a new clutch cable on there. The cable is shorter witch is a good thing. But still dont work. Push the clutch pedel and its pretty soft. Car in gear with clutch in the car wont roll. WTF.

Maybe you need to replace you clutch master-cylinder and/or slave-cylinder.

Re: New clutch new quadrent still wont disengauge

Ok so today went back up to my garage to see if i could figure it out. Thinking it is the fact that the release bearing that came with my clutch kit didnt have this plastic on it that also had Clips that the one coming out had. So I think because the new bearing dont have the clips to slide onto the fork that the bearing jumped out of place while putting back together.

Re: New clutch new quadrent still wont disengauge

After dealing with a problem like yours with my 89 LX , I finally ordered a fully adjustable cable and threw away that plastic noadjustable quadrant. Never had a problem in 5 years now.

Re: New clutch new quadrent still wont disengauge

Yeah Trying to keep from doing that. Cause I thought that to. Just bought this plastic adjustable one from Ford and guess its messed up but it was 65 bucks. So gonna have to spend another 100 to get the firewall adjuster, and the metal quadrent. Price you pay i guess. But should my cluch fork have a slight bend to it. Cause I dont know I looked at pictures and they seem to be bent.

Yeah that plastic quadrant is crap. I had trouble with that thing as well. I bought the metal steeda part and the firewall adjuster and haven't had a problem.

Re: New clutch new quadrent still wont disengauge

Yeah Ok cause its bent a little thought it was normal but thought I would bring it up while we where at it. Yeah thinking that is what im going to do get the the steeda quadrent and firewall adjuster. Just got a brand new clutch cable so wont be needing that. Hope this is it cause already dropped the tranny once to change clutch and another time to change throw out bearing. So dont want to do that agian. Ill post any progress.
