Yamaha R1 1/12

I'm starting a Tamiya Yamaha R1....don't be very critical with me....
These are a few photos of the progress.....





And while the paint is drying....I have made a couple of 1/24 bikes, I want to do two Yamaha MotoGP Test bikes....I have made and paint the bikes and now I have to do the decals with the computer.....

Did you use CF on yamaha test bikes? You could discribe your work on this bikes.
Could you do close up pics?

CF means carbon fibre, and a lot of the test bikes have visible CF fairings like Rossi's test bike that looks like this... (stole the pic from another thread on here...)

Definitely post up some more close up shots… the kit’s look good.

It's no Carbon Fiber, is just matt black...because I want to do this...and it seems no to have CF


And also...I don't know how to do the carbon fiber look....any ideas??

The bike you are trying to make a model of does actually have a visible carbon fibre pattern while others don't (some are just painted semi gloss/satin/flat black). For my part it's ok to paint them up semi gloss black or with some CF-looking mix of paint if you don't manage the tough CF work on the cowlings ( I know I don't).

Now a big update with the R1....hope you like...I think is the best bike I have ever made.....when I finish it I will make the decals for the "smaller" yamahas

oh no looks like you have inspired a new generation with R1 models, Joel.

Nothing like a good looking road bike to get the model juices going, pity I just sold my bike and got a Accent, waaaaaaa.

Now I have to do the decals for the 1/24 bikes and for another bike I am making.....but this is a new post hahaha
