chevy motors
hey guys i was wondering if any of you had a older chevy motor like a 350 or a 400 or something long or short block is ok i just need a place to start if it runs awsome if it needs to be rebuilt thats cool also if you do can some of you guys let me know or let me know where i can find one kinda cheap also the motor must be pretty much stock its for a race car so id rather build it myself if the block is bored its ok thanks alot

you can get a 350 bare block from gm for pretty cheap brand new or you could go with a stock 350 long block brand new for 1300 from jegs with free shipping possibly... if you are going for a race motor like you sed, i might be leary of the stock one and might just get the bare block and throw a forged crank and some nice aftermarket hypereutetic pistons in it with some beefy connecting rods. also, if you want to get a used block and have it bored out, junkyards have tons of smallblocks laying around...

racing must be different for you guys there, here in michigan at all dirt tracks, if you win your race and someone wants to buy your moter its for sale for 500bucks, if you decline you do not get your prize money for the night... kinda shitty, but it keeps people from soaking a boat load of money into a moter knowing that it can be gone at any time
