Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
Well I drive strictly highway and never ever sniff 30mpg. And I don't have A/C!!!!!!!!!!!! You sure you guys are calculating right? The Alero with the V6 has a 14 gallon tank.. So if you get 300 miles on that you're only getting 21mpg..

It is pretty easy to use a calculator but I believe the figures. I did a gas mileage test especially for you. I put in 14 gallons. Actually 13 gal with estimated 1 left. In strictly city with speeds no greater than 50 mph, 12 mile round trip to and from work to include plenty of traffic lights I got 320 miles when the low fuel came on. Thats 22.8 mpg. As I said earlier, on a road trip it gets 30 mpg plus easily.

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
You guys must have a better engine than me which isn't hard come to think about it.. I can fill it up until it pours out the hole and can't even get to 280 miles before the light comes on.. Eh, oh well atleast it's only 2.03 gallon..

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
Ummm....$2.03?!? Where are you getting your gas from?...at the source (the oil well)???
I haven't seen $2.03 a gallon in about 18 months. - Jeremy |

There's one gas station by my house (alittle out of the way) and I drove by it and was shocked to see it that low.. I've passed by it alot and it is always around 10 cents cheaper than the one across the street.. I've gotten gas there once but don't like driving out of my way.. Now at the 99% other ones it's around 2.13 for regular... For living in Refinery Country (Houston) you'd think we'd get it cheaper since the shipping is so low... |

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
Yeah that is ironic enough to piss you off. West Texas is refinery country too and our regular unleaded is $2.31/gal.
It is called the fleecing of America. All we can do is bend over and take it with a smile.

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
Both of you need to stop crying RIGHT now! The cheapest gas I found this weekend was in Denver at $2.47. The cheapest in Fort Collins, which is 65 miles north of Denver, is $2.59.
In my case it's a welcome change from $2.75 which was where it was abot a month ago, but I would KILL for the prices you all are paying. - Jeremy |

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
That's funny...I haven't paid anything less than $2.00 for nearly 2 years. Not kidding...

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
I miss the days of 18 cents per gallon.
Update: cost of regular unleaded in my area dropped to $2.25/gal for top tier gasoline (Chevron).

Re: 04 Alero Gas Mileage
LOL, all stations are around 2.05 with some as low as 1.95
Makes you wonder how they can make a profit with gas that low |
