Rb25det problems help EXPERIENCED PEOPLE

Hi everyone I am new to the forums here,

I have recently replaced my motor for a blown one in my r33 skyline. The car had exhaust leaks on the turbo and manifold when I got it back and was not boosting up and it had an uneven idle. I have since fixed those and it runs a lot better but not perfect

It idles all over the shop sometimes 500 sometimes 1100! and it hessitates and carrys on at revs 5000 and up, yet going over 5000rpm is pretty much impossible atm.

I have changed coil packs, plugs, cleaned aac valve and checked vacum lines but this didnt seem to help.

When I disconected my throttle position sensor to alter idle the idle went up to 2200 rpm after about 30 seconds of being on!!

Does anyone on these forums have a lot of experience with these motors? plese help somebody, my dad is a mechanic but he is old school and does not know enough about these forced things!!!

i think it could be the MAF too, had the same problem with my Golf, rough idle, hardly any power, wouldn't go over 2,000rpm in neutral. turned out the MAF was buggered. replaced it and it's back to normal.
