i'm assuming you have a j30.
if it can not be un locked, it sounds like it's a: the latch assy on the door (check fuzzycats.com) or b: the little lock metal rod thing inside the panel... but more so it reminds me of the latch if you can not open it with the door showing unlocked. both of which are easy (`4hrs labor) and cheap (<100 bucks) to fix
