Car is sputtering and stalling.

My 91 240SX with it's stock KA motor is giving me some problems.

I've been having issues about it idling, which I posted about before. I checked everything, replaced spark plugs, and the problem went away.

Now suddenly, my car is dropping low when I idle, and stalling again! it seems to sputter a lot, and drop in RPMs, and then come back up to normal idle. I smell a lot of oil burning, and see some white smoke behind me occationaly.

And it doesn't always happen either. Some times it'll be fine for like.. 2 minute, then start sputter all over again, occationaly stalling.

I'm wondering if I blew a gasket.. maybe head gasket? I'm going to have to take things appart on it.

I've checked my vacume hoses, no signs of leaks either on those...

Anyone have any suggestions on what to look for, take a look at?

could be head gasket... especially w/ white smoke...
also is it overheating? could be water pump, my old hatch was doing the same thing (minus the white smoke and oil smell) and would stall out. i replaced the water pump and it idled and ran fine.

No, it's not over heating. I was pushing it pretty hard a few weeks ago.. 110+ down the freeway. Drifting, and such.. So the motor has been taking a beating. It only has 130K on it but, I think it's looking bad. I was hoping to save up over winter, and buy a SR20DET, but I am running out of time. I'm going to put the vechical in storage soon, snow will soon be here anyway.

yea i hear you. i hate snow. it sounds like it might be your hg... check your gaskets, good luck
