Question Brush guard and tire for 96 Pathfinder

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to put 265 tires instead of 235 stock size tire in my LE model?

Also, is it possible to put 99-04 model brush guard to 96 LE pathfinder?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I recently replaced the stock tires on my 02 Pathfinder with Cooper Discoverer S/T tires... went to a 245/70R17. They are very snug, but do fit. A little bit of rubbing on the inside plastic fender well when in reverse and with the wheels turned sharply... ie backing out of a parking space. As long as you don't mind a little noise there, it doesn't do any harm. I can't imagine going to a 265 as you mention unless you had offset rims. Even then I believe you'd have rubbing problems. Plus you sure don't want to get any taller than the tires I put on. I'm very happy with the tires and the extra inch or inch-and-a-half of ground clearance that I picked up, but fuel mileage has gone in the crapper. I knew the extra height would hurt, but since the difference was only about 7%, I was surprised by losing 2-3 mpg in town. Having 17 inch rims kinda sucks, because it REALLY limits tire options.

Re: Brush guard and tire for 96 Pathfinder

Larko,

Factory tire for my 96 Pathfinder LE is 235/70/R15 which is totally different than yours. I have 15" rims. I know 96 SE model comes with 265/70/R15.

The SE has a wider rim. I would just find some SE rims and get wider tires on them.

Your tire question is you would need the proper size rims as the SE model to fit those tire and Yes i do believe the Brush and Grill Guard from a 99-04 model will fit.
