little or no heat

1998 Chevy Blazer 4WD
85k miles

I have little to no heat from the heating system, even with a warm engine temp. The air is almost room temperature, maybe a few degrees higher, but it's pretty useless at a heating sorce. Bad heater core? If so, is this year/model one that requires the dash to be removed to replace it?

Re: little or no heat

First try back flushing your heater core. Take both hoses off and take a hose and run water from the top hole back. Do this for a while then flush the other way then back again.
Could be your Tstat
Could be your Rad cap do you still have the GM cap on it, throw it away.
Could be air trapped in your heater core see how to about burping your system.

Re: little or no heat

I'd be willing to bet on the dexicool problem. Take off your heater hoses and flush the heater core with a garden hose. Put it back together and see if you get heat. If you do, you probably need to flush the entire system to get rid of the dexicool, its worthless. I think I've flushed my system 4 times now, and I still have radiator problems.

I would try the heater core flushing first sounds like you have a circulation problem. If that don't work try what I told the other owner.
