2001 cavalier problem!

Hello everyone, i have a 2001 cavalier 2200 (2.2) with a 5-speed. When i shift into a gear and accelerate it first makes a rather loud clingy noise like your drop pocket change onto a hard wood floor. it doesnt matter what gear im in it still does the same thing. Although this is my first cavalier ive owned, it seems to have a lose in power as well. Does anyone possibly know what this could be? Thanks.....

lol, thats just you're weak-ass engine being normal (i have the same one) as far as the noise goes, i once had the same problem with another car and it was a loose catylic converter, whenever the rpm's got in a certain range, no matter which gear, it would rattle for a second or 2

Mine is the heat shield just in front of the muffler. Only does when it is really cold outside. The heat shield rusted off or pulled off the 'stud' on the back.
