Opinions on '86 Trans Am?
I was thikning about buying this '86 trans am and fixing it up, yet I don't know TOO much w/ the older, 3rd degree Trans ams. I was wondering if I can get any advice on what to do to it to make it overall perform and look better? I am going to get a new paintjob, adn the body is in perfect condition, and it also has one of those firebird decals which I'm thinking about just getting painted on as well. Also, I'm not really thinking about switching out the engine yet, since the engine only has 1200 miles on it. I need a new transmission though, so I'll probably just get a transmission that works with the L98 currently in it, and maybe upgrade to a LT1 later. Either I want to do that or just get a LS1 and a brand new transmission, however that'd be a waste of a new, good engine
 .As far as some parts go, does anyone have an reccomendations on part that I should buy for it, either exterior or interior? Body kits are just fine too.. I have some cash to spend on this thing. I'm also thinkin of what color to paint it. It's T-top too.. if that helps. Thanks everyone!

I love the design of the car so if it was mine I would focus on performance mods and leave the exterior and interior alone except for maybe a set of wheels.

haha alright, that sounds good enough for me. Any idea where I might be able ot buy any other parts though, such as head/tail lights? They need a bit of a freshen up, and I wasn't sure if there were any other styles to pick from? I'm also still thinkin about how I should have it painted? What everyone wants me to do is have it all blakc, except gold skirts and the gold firebird emblem on the hood. I'm not too sure if the skirts would really match though.. or if I should just do single tone, then change up the bird. Any suggestions/color themes? Thanks again.

oh WOW... haha. That WOULD be pretty tight to have a car like that.. if you have the money to do that and have ANOTHER racing trans am. But WOW...
