Just is NOT my year - sorry for the rant....

Well, lost my G-dad in February to Cancer; lost G-ma in July to a bad heart; lost my job last week (Colorado's REAL slow in economy, more people losing houses then buying); and my gosh darned little dog just broke his foot... ARGHGHHG!!!

Worst of it all is the fact that they can't speak, so you have no idea how much pain they're in

Re: Just is NOT my year - sorry for the rant....

I've had years like that (the years my dad and my mom died were really bad).

I dont think the economy in this state is bad. The reason there's so many ppl losing thier houses is because they bought more house then they could afford when interest rates were low and got adjustable rate mortgages. Now that the rates have gone up they cant afford it anymore.

As far as the job, hope you can find a new one soon. Thats why I tell all the younguns to learn a trade, you will always be able to find work. When I got laid off a couple years ago I took a 9 month vacation while getting unemployment. When I got the last check I figured I better get back to work and had this job within a week. I've always been able to get a better job after getting fired/laid off so always worked out better for me.

Cheer up, things always get better after years like this.

sorry to hear about your job and the family deaths . if you got a wife or a girl hopefully she is working to bring some cash in? i would get to the unemployment office. it doesn't pay nearly what you were making but is a good gap filler in between jobs.

Ramblin- I thought you were a nail-bender? I'm not sure how it is in your area, but in mine, the self-employed 'handy-man' can do pretty well. Just post an add in some local papers. Either way, I hate to see a good guy fall on hard times! It will work out. It's unfortunate, but most all of us have been thru the go to work one day to find out you are out of a job scenario. That thought scares the heck out of me now with 3 little kids, old house, 2 cars... I'm off to church.
