Whats the name of the parts?

I am rebuilding a 2.8L V6 from a 1988 camaro. There is a part on the engine that I am not really sure what it is. It is located on the lower end of the drivers side and is mounted next to the oil pressure sending unit and oil filter base. I know its not the oil pressure sending unit. But its about 2.5 inches long and resembles a oil pressure sending unit. Can you guys tell me what it is?

Well for my 3.4, that is the oil pressure sending unit. Does yours have a rubber boot over it? If so then yeah, thats the oil pressure sending unit. I found that out the hard way when i accidently broke it and my oil pressure gauge stopped working.
