Question trany bump

I just bought a high mileage liberty limited 116K very nice ride but I have two issues. First, once in while when stoped and want to proceed the car bumps. it is as if the brakes were stuck and let lose, or it feels like play somewhere before it catches. I can not duplicate this at will. no other troubles so I hope it is not the trany. universal joint? Second problem at night the all the lights cut off for a second then come back on. I hear a relay or something in the dash click off then they instantly go back on. If it was not for these two issues I would love this car. Any help would be appreaceated.

Re: trany bump

Sounds like the trans is slipping. Check the fluid. If you need fluid, make sure you use only Mopar ATF+4. Any other fluid will "poison" the trans and cause it to totally fail.

Re: trany bump

The lights sound as if the ciruit breaker is being over loaded and trips. These breakers are self - resetting, so they will turn themselves back on a few seconds after tripping. This may indicate a short circuit or excessive power draw in the lighting circuit.

The breaker may also be defective.
