Re: removing egr on lt1
what about the air pump under the ignition coil? should that come off too? And will I get any trouble codes from the egr actuator being unplugged?

Re: removing egr on lt1
Yes, I think you will throw codes for an EGR delete.

Zap em with a tune afterwards or don't remove the EGR components.

Re: removing egr on lt1
Can you remove the EGR stuff but leave the AIR stuff, or do you have to remove the AIR with the EGR?

Re: removing egr on lt1
Well, I just want to remove the EGR to get rid of the exhaust leak, not necessarily for performance gains. And I wasn't planning on messing with the AIR crap.

Re: removing egr on lt1
I absolutely agree on the usable space thing. Im pulling my heads and really wish I had more room to work. Thats the main reason im doing the delete. Just to free up some room while im at it and less stuff to mess with when I put it all back together.
BTW...how good is the performance gain form the EGR delete? |

Plus you really don't need it, the LT4 did away with the EGR. Infact GM makes the block off plates for LT1's intake manifolds but not the passenger exhaust manifold.
