anyone know any speed items for my 1998 gtp just bought it yesterday

what kind of performance items do you guys know of ,,,for this car???maybe a chip??? what kind and around what price range???i had a hyper tech chip in my last grand prix se 1991 3.1l kn filter crane cam and shift kit ,,,the chip helped on the bottom end ,,really didnt see any gain on the top, thanks for the feed back,,,,

Welcome to AF.

There are plenty of bolt on mods for the L67 GTP. Re-programmed PCM modules from ZZP, Intense or DHP go for around $79 - $99. You will see a difference in the top end because it removes the speed limiter and increases tranny shift points.

whatever you do, ALWAYS add supporting mods(CAI,PCM,Headers or PEM.s) before going to a smaller pulley. i learned the hard way.

thanks guys for the input,,,i had gms before,,,but really a ford man,,,but have 2 admit,,,always liked the gtp....i have this guy up here ...that wants 2 sell me a hyertech chip for 200.oo is it a good buy???he claims its still in the factory package...i dont know????

i was looking around and maybe im looking in the wrong places or something. but i didnt see any Hypertech Chips for the 97-03 grand prixs. i saw hyper tech power programmers and other parts but no performance chips for them. do you have a link to the item you could post so i could see it. like i said i might be wrong but i just didnt find any chips for our cars by hypertech

the chip is a waste of money, go to www.zzperformance.com and get a reprogrammed pcm for 79 bucks....much better

i was gonna say they were a waste of money but ive never personaly owned a chip in any of my cars. the last chip i ordered was a 200ohm resistor. but my guess would be the chip is a waste and i would definetly agree on going with the reprogrammed PCM
