4WD Light Blinks on 2000 GMC Jimmy

Hey guys,

I just found your how-to on fixing the waterfall sound behind my dash. Thank you! It's been getting worse and driving me nuts for a long time!

My next question is probably pretty general...

4WD stopped working. Whenever I try and put it into 4WD it just blinks.

I'm a bit dissapointed in my GM product. As of late it has literally been one problem after another. Front bearings replaced twice in 10,000 miles. Balljoints, CV joints, all replaced as well. All that on top of a ruined set of tires.

Now I am getting a whining, possibly almost grinding sound in the drivers front. Worse as you accelerate. Is it the bearings going out again?

Thanks guys. This forum is great and I love the how-to's!

Cody

There is a common problem with the position encoder and motor on the transfer case. Your year/model may have a similar issue.
