94 Z28 Abs

Hey everyone. Just bought a 94 z28 6 speed the other day. I was never a huge F-body fan but I have always loved small block chevys and I gotta say that I am very impressed with this car. I Knew I would find a few things wrong with it being 12 years old. Everything works under hard braking but on slow gradual stops I feel what seems like a clunk but the feel from the pedal is like it is going into an ABS stop from about 5 mph and under. (on dry pavement) Also the low trac light comes on during this. I haven't had much time to look into it but was wondering if anyone had similar problems. Thanks.

Andy

Re: 94 Z28 Abs

Only 4 things can be causing this. The VSS, front hub abs sensors and the rear reluctor/sensor. My guess would be its one of your front hub wheel sensors, the good thing is what is causing that light to be triggered is getting logged and can be pulled from your PCM. So just figure out whats causing it then check out the wiring to that location (if its the rear sensor doing it make sure to ask the prior owner if there was a gear swap done on that vehicle, could have put in the wrong reluctor ring or left it out all together although that would make the light come on under all driving conditions most likely)
