INTENSE pcm?

I Heard INTENSE pcms are giving cars problems and I have one in my '98 GTP. Is it possible to get my pcm switched to the Digital Horse Power one or even back to stock? And if they are causing problems, what are the problems?

Re: INTENSE pcm?

I have an Intense custom programmed PCM. I've heard of other owners having problems but I do not have any. Probably because of incorrect options when you order one that do not match the mods or vice versa.

If you want a DHP or ZZP they will be glad to re-program your Intense but for a fee. They can be programmed over and over again.

Of course JC. The original PCM that was sent in to Intense was stock at one time or another. All that makes them a certain brand like DHP, Intense, or ZZP is the label they stick on after it is re-programmed.

When I get my stock PCMs programmed I send mine in and get it back. Otherwise you put up a deposit (core charge) and will get back whatever they send you.

Re: INTENSE pcm?

the problem was when the '04 L32s first came out, they tried to use a similar bin file to that of the L67 and didn't take the time to do actual research on the engine, the first few guy with L32s that bought them weren't happy when pistons stared slapping in their engines...

from what i hear, they have straightened this out, yet a lot of trust was lost in Intense(mainly because they never came out with a FORMAL apology saying "we were wrong" and tried to cover most of it up stating there wasn't a problem)... though even now people that have cracked their PCMs, say they actually don't change a whole lot over stock, its not near the customization of that of a DHP, and I'm not here to wage a brand war, i'm just stating the facts:

DHP and ZZP pcms>Intense

Looks like your so called facts are way off base. The Intense is just as customizable as the DHP and ZZP PCMs. More so at the time of initial order. The DHP and ZZP PCMs found at all of our favorite places are one size fits all for that low $99 or $79 cost. For bare minimum mods.

I have both DHP and Intense. The DHP is for street and the custom programmed Intense is for the strip.

Maybe if you had an Intense you would not have that troublesome P0420 DTC you mentioned in another thread.

In my Intense the P0420 DTC and any possibility of getting a P0420 is inhibited. All it cost was an extra $10.00. Plus my GTP passes Texas emissions with flying colors.

Re: INTENSE pcm?

if you order an intense pcm, a dhp pcm, and a zzp pcm and compare the bins, you will see that the intense is closer to stock, now with a Powertuner or Hp tuners, all of them can be tuned the same(unless its a DHP 1.0, they are locked)... And the reason I have the SES is the high flow cat, once again with ANY tuner you can delete that file, its not something to jump for joy over, I just have an OBD-II scanner and when it comes on every 3 weeks or so, I take the 15 seconds it takes to delete it, no big deal...
