Question Starter Problem???

About every 8-9th start it seems to hang for a second while it is starting. I mean that it turns over about twice as long as usual before it starts, then all is fine. I just had it in to have the recal (harmonic balancer) worked and had them look through diagnostics. Of course, it did not repeat the problem while in the shop. Anyone else have any issues like this or suggestions?

Re: Starter Problem???

Yeah it used to happen to mine about every 10 or so starts too. Hasn't happened in the past 7500 or so km's though. I've never actually taken it in to the dealer for service (just a local shop, the dealer is a ripoff) so I couldn't tell you what it is, just that it went away.

I've also had the radio lockup on me a few random times as well but this seems to happen to a lot of GM vehicles, no biggie, just restart.

Re: Starter Problem???

Yeah, I've got 7,500 miles on my car (G6 GT Coupe), and it hesitates about one-two starts a week. Of course my traction control faultered and caused me to loose control and wreck my G6. Check out my post on 9.25.06 for details!

Re: Starter Problem???

gm has just come out with a control module reprogram that addresses the intermittent extended crank on the g6. just take it to your dealer and as long as the calibration is valid for your VIN they should update the pcm under your factory warranty
