Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.
The switch in the buckle is probably bad or disconnected.

Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.
in hindsight:

Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.

Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.
i wasn't being sarcastic...
i had 3 different cars (nissan, dodge, & honda) that all had lifetime warranties on passive restraint systems... 2 of which were bought from previous owners... the nissan dealer fixed my problems for free (because I inquired about it) the other two were similar when I told them about the DOT madates that says these vehicles were covered under lifetime warranties... fixed for free as well... good luck w/ confirming that those buckles are "closing the electrical loop" so the light on the dash would go off... |

Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.
The seatbelt light is for the lap belt to remind you to use it. Check the wiring and switch. When you start the car with the lap belt buckled, do you hear a chime after a few seconds? If so, the computer thinks the lapbelt is not buckled.

Re: 94 SL1 seatbelt light.
Check.your.wiring.
The seatbelt light is not a malfunction indicator. That light being on had nothing to do with your defective passive restraint shoulder belts. There is a little switch inside the buckle that the lap belt clicks into. Check it. Check the wires coming out of it. check to make sure its still plugged into the rest of the harness. |
