04' corolla s a/c trouble!! plz help!!

Ok, here's the situation. I was driving on the highway about a month ago and all the sudden my ac started blowing hot air for a lil bit. Then it went back to cold air. Last weekend it happened again, except it still won't blow cold air, of course because were in the hottest month of the fl summer. I had my friend who works on cars for a hobby look at it today. We replaced the carbon filter cause it was clogged and that didn't solve the problem. So we thought it could've been a frion leak so we tried to recharge and seal the frion but there was plenty of frion according to the gauge. My friend ran tests on the fuses to make sure everything was good and nothing showed up. He also said that the coil was fine. And since I've only had the car for the past 3 years, it shouldn't be having this problem already. If anybody knows what's wrong with my car, please help!!!!! The fl heat is horrible!! Thanks so much!!

Did your friend test with Ac gauges? It sounds like either low freon (I.E. leak as you first suspected) or it could be a restriction in the system. (Restriction causing the high side to go way too high and high pressure switch cutting out). If there's a restriction, it isn't gonna be cheap, so be sure that's the case. (with a restriction the only way to eliminate it is to replace orfice tube/expansion valve (depending on system), and the accumulator/reciever-dryer that's generally where the stoppage occurs. Since your friend tested it, I assume the clutch was engaging?
