Question ...but what are they for?

I just got a new keyboard(hp 51810),and I noticed an odd feature.......on the lower edge of the 'f' and 'j' keys, there is a little raised bar......what are they?? keyboard nipples?

I'm wondering if they are reference points for blind typists?I know that you can get software that 'speaks' as each key is pressed,so that visually impaired users can operate the keyboard.....does anybody know the correct answer,I can't find any info in the user's handbook.

I think they are for fast typing so you know where to position your fingers without looking. The same thing you will find on the 5 on the numeric.

Yeah, they are diffently for touch typing.

If you have noticed if you put both you second fingers on them, then ever finger can easily reach any letter, or key.

Spot on! It helps us find our place again if our fingers move from the keyboard.
