door codes 2002 mountaineer
Hi, I Got just bought a 2002 Mountaineer. I can't seen to find to code to use the keyless entry pad. Does anyone know where that would be. I have found several suggestions, but none have worked. Any help??

Look in your owner's manual to locate the ECM (computer). The door lock codes will be printed on a tag attached to the ECM.

Re: door codes 2002 mountaineer
solved the problem.
Well the code for the entry pad for my 2003 Mountnier is on the ecm. The ecm is located behind the rear door on the passenge side. Remove the panel on the inside and you will see it. The panel is just clipped on and no tools are needed. The code is on the White label on the ecm. It is 5 or 6 digets and they are written large off to one side of the lable. After you enter the code it will unlock the drivers door. then push the 3 and it will unlock all doors, then if you want push 5 and the rear glass will unlock. probly some other fetures that it does if you can figure them out. Good Luck.

Re: door codes 2002 mountaineer
Same location as on the earlier Mountaineers and Explorers also. I believe they call the module the Remote Antitheft Personality (RAP) module. This is not the engine PCM/ECM.
I'm not sure about the 2002, but the earlier ones you can just remove the access door for the jack and with a decent flashlight, see the tag with the 5-digit code on it. One feature you didn't mention, if you push the 78 and 90 buttons at the same time, it will lock all doors. You can also add a personalized code to the keypad as well. And if you have multiple memory positions, you can program a code for the two drivers, one code to adjust to settings for memory one and one for memory two. -Rod |
