Thermostat Housing - 95 Sunfire

Any ideas for me regarding what type of TOOL I should use to remove the thermostat housing bolts. I realize it's a standard 1/2". However, I'm having difficulty with removing/replacing the "lower" thermostat housing bolt for a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire. Not very much room on the lower side to get a socket/ratchet down there. I've tried a socket + universal joint + 2 extensions. I can't get any grip, and/or secure fastening.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!!

Welcome to AF! First of all try a metric socket. I believe you will find this is metric probably somewhere between 10 and 13 mm. This will allow you to get a better grip.
