Cooling fan
Let's start off with the fact that I'm a Ford guy... so I'm stumped on this (I'm also used to engines with fans that get turned by the engine facing the radiator). I think my mom's motor on her fan is toast. She's got a '97 Sunfire, and it was over heating, so I popped the hood, first thing I checked was the fan. Not coming on. I checked the sensor that's under the coolant reservoir on the passenger side of the engine compartment, it wasn't plugged in. I plugged it in, nothing. There's another sensor near the radiator on the outside of the radiator, between the body of the car and the radiator, plugged it in, still nothing. The fan just won't come on.
Two questions:
Anyone ever changed the motor on these fans? Is it hard? Where do I start?
Where's the thermostat on these suckers? I figure while I have the fan pulled out and get the motor changed, I'll change the TS, just in case! Thanks for your help guys and gals.
