Throttle Body rebuild...pars?

Hi;

I am rebuilding the engine on my ’90 C-1500. I also want to rebuild my throttle body; where do I get a kit for one of these things? Also I am replacing the injectors. Anyone got any idea/pointers/experience and what are some good parts; and where can I get them? Thanks very much

Josh

Insted of rebuilding have you looked into an aftermarket throttle body ? Mine 99K1500 has a Helix Power Tower on it (came with truck I bought truck used). Anyway from what I read,and how the truck performs it adds miles per gallon and additional torque/HP. Check out their website it may help.

Re: Throttle Body rebuild...pars?

Are you looking only for TBI gasket sets, or planning to bush the throttle shaft as well? Gasket sets for the throttle body are available through GM, and throttle shaft bushings and reamers are available individually, but I have not encountered a "kit" for a specific throttle body or fuel system. I have several standard reamers I have used to bush carburetor shafts, but have not as of yet had a need for any EFI TB rebuilding, other than gaskets.

Re: Throttle Body rebuild...pars?

I live in the golden state of California! Which means anything that adds horse power to a car is pretty much illegal! Even if it does add MPG (stupidest laws ever) so I am going to stick with stock because I dont feel much like going into all the details of that stuff.

I think A gasket set is all I need; along with a tooth brush and carb cleaner Should I use A/C Delco injectors? or should I go with an aftermarket brand? (one of my injectors is leaking causing it to run rich; and at 3 bucks a gallon thats money out the tail pipes!)
