2006 grand pris rotors/calipiers on a 97

hey
just scored sum brand new 0miles front rotors and calipiers
the rotors are off a 2006 grand prix
they appear to be half inch bigger but i got the calipier brackets with the calipier so they bolt on mint
they are almost identicaly the same as the stock 97 brakes
any1 ever done this before?

im plannin on puttin them on today
the 06 has 16 inch rims also somy wheel bolts on fine and clearance isnt a issue
can i expect a decent increase in brakeing power with these ?
i paid like 50 bucks for everything BRAND NEW OEM

also scored all 4 rear control arms(look like tie rods)
called dealer they said they wouldnt fit
well a hour later the rear 2 were on but u gotta pull the tank to get the bolts out for the front ones

btw the dealer said 97 control arms were 129 bucks
i paid a 24 of carling beer for all 4 lol

Re: 2006 grand pris rotors/calipiers on a 97

The brake pads that fit the 06 calipers have a 15-20% smaller friction surface area than the pads for your 97, so the slightly larger rotor surface will be negated by the smaller pad. I don't believe you will gain any stopping power, but if they will fit, $50 is a good deal for the parts if you needed brakes anyway.
