94 lumina ac
the clutch on my ac is making a rattleing noise and I want to bypass the ac with a different atl belt. is there a diagram to show how this could be done and do you know what size belt it would take? I currently use a 71 inch belt

Re: 94 lumina ac
Why not just replace the clutch?
The label under the hood showing the belt routing should show the alternate routing for a non-AC vehicle. At least most of them do. |

Re: 94 lumina ac
due to the way the belt routes, you cannot just remove and by-pass the A/C compressor on your car. Any attempt to do so will cause the water pump to spin backwards which will overheat your engine. Dorman makes a kit that includes a pulley and bracket that bolts to the compressor mounts that runs about $30-$40. Part number is 34196. Here's a link to the part on Dorman's website. I did one on a 96 Century, and I had to get new bolts and nuts to attach it, as the bracket has straight through holes, and the compressor has threaded holes so the original bolts were too short.
