Re: no spark

There are two white wires coming off the dizzy... first, try switching them and starting the car again, if that don't work, check to make sure that all your wires on the dizzy side match the colors on the harness side of the clips

Then, get a service manual from your parts store, and it will explain the procedure for testing the coil, but if the car started with the DX dizzy, just swap the coils out anyway. it's not difficult, and it will tell you immediately if the problem you're having is the coil.

Re: no spark

Sounds like your backfiring into your intake manifold. I think that means your timing is 180* off.

Re: no spark

Did you replace the head or timing belt? if so, check that it's installed correctly, and all the marks line up where they're supposed to,

Pull the cap off the dizzy, then take it out of the head, Turn your engine to TDC #1 cyl, then turn the rotor inside the dizzy until it faces the bottom right corner as you're facing it, then reinstall it.. should slide right in, may displace the rotor one degree or so, no matter

reinstall wires, and cap, then attempt to start again

It's NEARLY impossible to install a D series dizzy 180 out, but it's happened before... anyway, check all that, then post back.

Re: no spark

The ECU that you were using was a PG7, correct?

If so, this should work for you, though you might get some check engine lights b/c of sensors that you don't have... not sure about that, not really familiar with that particular ECU.

Anyway, Hope you're happy with the swap, you're one more honda fan reaffirmed by his own learned skills.

Re: no spark

Best guess, the PG7 is dead or something is screwed up in it... or the wiring is diff for the car it came from VS the one you're putting it in.
