97 Tracker Check Engine light
I have a 97 Tracker. When I start it when it is warm it misses for a couple of minutes and the check engine light comes on (po301-cylinder 1 misfire). I've replaced the egr-egr modulator-fuel filter-plugs-cap-rotor-plug wires-air filtercleaned the throttle body and IAC. I just had the fuel pressure regulator because the shope said when he pulled the hose off gas came out and he said it should be vac only and the gas must be dropping into cylinder #1 since it is the closest and it runs rough til it burns the gas off. Well when I picked it up it did the same thing (ran rough for a couple of minutes and the check engine light came on-po301) so I'm back to square 1. What next??? Fuel injector-air leak???. When this started just the check engine light came on but it ran fine. It seems to run bad when it has been warmed up-shut down and then started again but I'm not 100% sure. It has 80,000 miles with no problems except o2 sensor check engine ligt last year. I replaced the front o2 sensor. ??? Thanks, Mike

Re: 97 Tracker Check Engine light
Try replacing the Coolant Temp Sensor (ECT). My engine light was on for 2 years. I tried everything for the EGR error. MyTracker had a big loss of power, bad gas mileage, etc. replaced the ECT very inexpensive and easy to replace and the light is now off. Vehicle running much better.

Re: 97 Tracker Check Engine light
Have you pulled that vac hose off a couple of times to see if fuel still comes out of it? Ed
