96 window crank

so my friend is takeing apart his drivers side door to try and fix his window (only goes half way up) he managed to almost get the door panel off the inside of the door but we are confused as to how to remove the window crank handle. right now its the only thing keeping the panel on. we dont want to pry it off unless we know its not going to break it. thanks

Re: 96 window crank

take two screwdrivers, lol. One prying the door back, and the other to get underneath the metal prong...and just pull it out, then the handle slides off. DON"T LOSE IT!!!!! I lost mine and can't put my window cranks back on....

Re: 96 window crank

Fig. 3: The manual window crank handle is retained to the regulator by a retaining clip

Fig. 4: A special tool is available to release the retaining clip. Insert the tool behind the handle and release the clip to remove the handle
