Smile egr selonoid vaccum hose

I was looking through my 1987 fiero SE 2.8 V6 engine. I noticed that the vaccum hose for the egr selonoid was messing and could not figure out where it would run to. I was wondering to were exactly does that hose go to?? I tried looking in the manual but no good pictures were available. I looked on the internet at pictures but still the egr selonoid was was kind of hidden or to dark to see. So, if any could help me I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks
Smallride

Re: egr selonoid vaccum hose

smallride,

There are two lines, both are plastic lines connected with rubber.
One runs directly to the EGR valve. The other comes from the throttlebody to a "T" at the solenoid (one leg to the solenoid the other to the vacuum sensor mounted to the solenoid).

To confuse matters even more there are three more plastic lines running on that side of the engine. The first runs to a "T" then to the "map" sensor. The remaining two run via a double connector & rubber line to the trunk firewall.
These three have nothing to do with the EGR solenoid.

Hope that helps!

My trunk has the diagram, but does not indicate the path for the egr selonoid hose connection, it being only one hose connetion opposite the "T" connection( facing closest to the firewall). That is the one that has been eluding me. If you know where that goes that would be awesome.

Re: egr selonoid vaccum hose

smallride,

Both lines run in the same general direction.
They make a "U" turn from the solenoid towards the front of the car. Then they make a turn towards the drivers side & run under the front of the plenum (intake).

On the drivers side of the plenum the "T" line (at the solenoid) turns to the rear of the car & goes to the EGR valve. The other line does not turn & goes across to the throttle body.

To make it short, both lines are routed exactly the same untill they get to the drivers side of the plenum.

Earlier I said there were only two lines but I was mistaken. There is a third but it's not a vaccum line. It is about a 3/8" rubber line that runs from the front of the solenoid to a steel line on the front firewall.

Hope that clears it up, Goodluck

Re: egr selonoid vaccum hose

Hey thanks, I believe I have seen this line at the firewall. I will take a look at it. Thanks!
