95+ subaru impreza project Qs

Hey everyone. i swore i wouldnt get into subarus on the sheer fact that everyone i know has an RS of some kind like they fall out of trees, but i was "given" (actually abandoned in my yard from my friend who thought body work was childplay. hes an idiot) a 95 impreza 2dr 2.2l awd. i fixed the exterior to damn near mint, put on a nice body kit and some 17s. but its time to rip into the motor and as i'm not to formiliar with them off hand i've been reading up and i'm getting some miss-information.

so to clarify, i'd like to rebuild it and lightly turbo it for sh*ts and giggles. but i wanna do it cheaply as this isnt really a huge concern to me as to make it race ready BUT i'd like to do it right instead of struggling over details

i'm looking at a few forums already that tell me the turbo kits for RS will fit 2.2l Imprezas. i think thats untrue but i could be wrong

secondly the wrx headers (ej20) they also say will mount up to the block... i 'm hesitant on believe that aswell YET working on subies before i know that parts are easily interchangeable

so.

i was thinking (should the previous fit) i'd get the wrx headers and a cheap t3/t4 kit on ebay and mock something up. i'm fairly decent with a welder so it shouldnt be a huge deal however i worry about the injectors and the ecu. i will end up rebuilding the tranny for strength reasons but otherwise am i bulletproof? (i'm not really into having this run forever, just for a little while before i end up blowing something up) like i said "it was given to me"
