Range for a remote Keyless 1995 gcl
Whats the usual range for the remote to work the keyless entry is it over 10 feet? I cant get mine to work cept when im right up to vehicle. I put new batteries in it too. seems very strange to me that it wont work like from my porch (30 feet) to unlock or unlock it.

the problem with the remotes on 1993-1995 JGC is that they are infrared . They actually use a light beam to operate the remote lock and unlock. The newer jeeps have a radio transmitter in the keyless entry fobs so they work from far away. You need to be standing very close to your Jeep and point the remote at the ceiling ( there is a little plastic bubble in the roof console...that is the receiver) This is normal, I have had several 1993-1995 JGC and the remotes are all the same.
